How Do You Build A Custom Fire Pit?

I would like to build an custom fire pit. We live in the city so it has to be above ground and have the ability to be covered. The following resources are great for homeowners looking for a propane fire pit, fire pits for sale, discount fire pits, cheap fire pits, and fire pit rings.

How bad do you want the fire pit? I love mine, and use it all the time. You will enjoy yours too, I would imagine. The best bet is to follow the codes from your city. The portable pits are expensive, but it’s a 1 time expense. It will be quickly forgotten after a few fires. Enjoy!

We have a super cheaply made fire ring. It’s the rim of a wheel, with the central part removed and a grate that can be stuck over it. We can drag it all over the place and move it around too.

You could probably make one out of something similar, if you can’t find a wheel rim.

Make a simple frame out of something that is really durable, like sheet aluminum. Then, apply fibreglass over the whole thing and after it has dried, spray a layer of temperature resistant spray, those that you find in hardware stores can withstand up to 1200 farenhiet.

check with the codes of your city. Then one of the cheaper ways to make a fire ring is go to a farm implement salvage yard and get a tractor tire rim. They make a nice size and you can easily decorate around it with landscaping block.
