Well, I am having a camp out sleepover for my birthday, and my mom and I dug a fire pit in our backyard and put rocks and green logs around it, but we aren’t sure if we need to go get a permit from the fire dept. Its no problem to do so, but we don’t want to go if we don’t have to.
Would is be legal to do this?
I live in Louisiana (No its not a giant swamp, i actually live in the city. Not New Orleans either).

I cannot find out what laws would apply, but people keep telling me that I cannot just burn some wood on my private land without a permit. We are not talking about anything grand, just a small fire pit and a few logs. The property is in Sullivan County, NY. I’ll appreciate and answer from someone who knows. Thanks.

i have a copper fire pit and constantly have fires in them..but they always die out in under like 2 hrs. how can i prevent this i have

We have a basic copper fire pit – just a bowl on a stand with a mesh cover. We can never get a decent fire going. Usually we put some kindling (w/crumpled paper underneath) and the logs on top of that. The wood is dry but all we get is smoke. Any suggestions?
